King & Moffatt were responsible for the mechanical and electrical installation on the refurbishment of and extension to the Lidl RDC Mullingar Warehouse. The redevelopment comprised of the 45,000m² warehouse and the fit out of 2 floors of office space and a 15,000m² extension.
Lidl’s redevelopment of the warehouse will be partly powered by solar panels, which will generate approximately a quarter of the facilities energy requirements. The site comprises of 25,000 sqm of cold rooms cooled by natural refrigerants, a cutting edge refrigeration heat recovery system providing heating to the warehouse and a pollinator – friendly area to promote local biodiversity.
