King & Moffatt have recently manufactured a plantroom for a client in our offsite facility. It was designed and coordinated using BIM and we gave a VR demo to the client to allow them review the finished product before proceeding with the work. We eliminated weeks of “on site” work (the site is located over three hours from our HQ and offsite facility).
The plantroom is fully insulated on the inside to ensure everything is protected from extreme temperatures and has energy efficient heating / cooling when required at different times throughout the year. The ductwork is all in position on site so we envisage one day of “on site” work when the plantroom is delivered. This approach has reduced our carbon footprint with the products used and it eliminated a lot of unnecessary travel.
