C&D Foods Ltd is Ireland’s largest producer of pet food, manufacturing its own brand products for Tesco, Sainsbury etc at sites in Ireland and the UK.
In 2006, a large portion of the manufacturing facility in Longford, Ireland was destroyed by fire rendering the entire cannery and associated processes permanently inoperable. After consideration of various business options, C&D decided to redevelop the existing fire damaged site with significant improvements in technology, automation and GMP.
Due to a long term relationship with C & D Foods King and Moffatt were the preferred contractors on the job. King and Moffatt were brought on board at an early stage to assist with the design.
